Does anyone still read?

I've noticed "The dog that didn't bark" is used by Elder and others as an analogy in trading
He claims it was is "The hound of the baskervilles", but I read that book years ago and I don't remember any such hound. Having said that I watched a Rathbone/bruce flick the other day based on the Doyle book "Silver blaze" and the dog did come into play. I was just wondering was it in the hound book or did Elder just screw it up. Trivial thing I know but it's stuck in my head.

The Dog That Didn't Bark wasn't in the Hound of the Baskervilles, but was in fact in Silver Blaze.
