Cav

Yes the Sky team really look strong this year gonna be a great tour.

Didn't get to see it today, heard cavendish has lost loadsa weight in last few months and is happy to play the supporting role for the team/wiggins which is an interesting role reversal.

Yest stage was quality, like the way they make it as hard as possible - at the end of the 198km stage is a steep climb on cobble streets, ha. One of the craziest endurance events.

Yes cav really had to work hard for it without the help of the excellent support he had with the htc team who had the sprints timed to perfection.

stage 3 today.
Cav was so funny winning that intermediate sprint.
He certainly stamped his authority and let Van Hummel know what he thought about his shenanigans :)

Who needs a train when you're in the form that Cavendish is in ?

Yes another great stage today full of incident some great characters this year Evans alawys makes me laugh too funny little chappie :)

Good stage today won't spoil it but worth watching the highlights.

Superb tactics by Sky yesterday total dominence of the finish and Brad in yellow awesome.

assuming Wiggo keeps the maillot jaune to Paris, and if Cav wins Gold at the Olympics,
which one will get British Sports Personality of the Year ?

Wiggo. No question.

a very tricky one, i am tempted to bet against this, esp @ 1.96 to lay on betfair.

My main (obvious) reasons:
London olympics - obviously going to be some gold medal contenders
BBC - bias towards sports not on rival channels (eg Strauss when cricket went to Sky)- this cld be done by more coverage in the programme itself; order they are presented on the programme etc.

I just have a feeling they are going to milk the olympics to the max.

I think he will win also, but we 'should' see him drift a little for some ticks to get out early.

I have 3 reasons for taking your bet:

1. Wiggins has been one of the top cyclists in the UK for a long while but has not had that much recognition

2. The Tour de France is without doubt, the biggest thing to win in cycling and transcends the Olympics. It is a statement that says I am the "hardest fncking cyclist in the world". An Olympic track event is nice but not where the heart of the sport lies. It's heart is in road racing and the grand tours and the romance comes from the TdF.

3. He's had a stonking season - he's done well as a general classification rider - something that has been in missed int the UK because it likes bicycles and winners but not the sport itself that much and therefore his success has not been heavily reported.

In short - his performance has eclipsed Cav and his wins are big enough backed by an already illustrious track career, even though Cav is the fastest man on earth.
