Right, I'm a big sci fi geek yet have never that's right never seen Star Wars. My mate has just lent me the two trilogies on dvd.... but which order should I watch them?

He says... 123 456, but so many other people say 456 123

What are your thoughts?

you should watch 456 123
otherwise the phantom menace may put you off watching the other films or spoil them for you

My mate says George Lucas intended them to be watched 123 456 to get the full story, I mean I already know the whole "I am your father" business so it's not like I'm missing out there. He reckons Lucas intended them to be watched 123 456 because you get a story 'arc' or something.

However, some other people I've spoken to and indeed from a quick google search have said the same as you, in fact some people have said miss out 1 and 2 altogether cos otherwise you won't get past 2

if never watched i'd say best to watch in story order ie phantom menace first, finishing with return of the jedi.

it's only us old farts that like to watch them in cinema release order :D

yea you could skip 1 altogether, nothing in it matters at all, except they introduce the characters who you already know anyway

maybe because i have no attention span, but i still don't understand what's happening in the plot to ep 1, didn't seem to matter

Just finished the first installment... The Phantom Menace, thought it was pretty good to be honest, dunno why people slate it so much, perhaps as I have nothing to compare it to. The only bad thing to say about it I thought Jar Jar Binks is the most annoying tw@

As long as he's not in any of the others it should be okay. Bit confused as to what the Jedis are though, guessing they're like some independent religion/police force of the Universe.... still only watched the first one so as one might say "all in good time young padawan"

Meesa love Jar Jar Binks lotsy lotsy.

The Jedi are like the old Samurai class with a bit of ki/life force energy mysticism thrown in.

My advice is to kill yourself.

Seriously - if can't do something as straightforward as watch some movies without asking a bunch of strangers on the internet at which point you should crack one off to Princess Leiahs trumped up cleavage, then it's game over.

PM me an address and I'll come and do it for you.

Next thread will be "do I drink a glass of water before the 100 valium or do I sip between pills?"

Fantastic. This is what the internet is all about. A huge repository of interesting, useful information that is literally launching the human race forward to bigger and better things.

If possible - could you tweet your feelings as you sit through the next movie - I think that would give us a much better feel for your whole experience. :whistling

srsly 4,5,6 then 2/3 on mute just to look at nat portman is the way to go

watching 1,2,3 first will dilute it and your mind will not be raped when you get to 4

A legitimate question was asked... what order would you watch Star Wars in having never seen them. As a fan of films I feel that I would like to make the most out of the experience and the order of watching them is one that could either make or break said experience, just google that question and there are thousands of replies. I was under the impression that the internet was a place where one can ask questions on any subject matter to enhance life and gain information otherwise unavailable.

Perhaps it is you who needs the Valium, you seem slightly up tight and highly strung and a question gets you this angry there is no hope for you.

Seriously, just relax no need to get so tense, if you're that offended just don't read anymore.

Nope - you should definitely end it all now.

I have the name of a couple of clinics in Switzerland. They'll probably let you check out and tweet at the same time.

Tweet out.
