OK, lame, but given the current t2w milieu, not that lame.

Don’t often find myself out and about and in a panic over not having set the record for a programme I’ve just found out about, but…

Sky+ Remote Record

Apart from being quite a neat idea (and possibly even useful), it has a search facility which knocks the gonads off the crap box-based version.

How does it work Tony and what were you wanting to record ? not Coronation Street was it :)

Paul

You get the same listings in the same format on the app as you do on the TV via the Sky+ box.

Tap the one you want to record. Hit record.

It sends the request off to Sky via Wi-Fi or GPRS (whatever yoiu happened to be hooked into at the time). They upload it to the sat. The sat dowloads the record instruction to your box at home. Programme records.

Doesn't matter whether you're sitting right in front of your box at home or round the other side of the planet.

Doesn't take much to impress me obviously....

No, I believe the app is available to download and can be used on any day of the week and indeed, all day as you say.

Just one nostril next time, OK?

I just love the rapier wit on T2W. Thats why I keep drifting back to the wreckage for a peep now and then.

Bloomberg

Not quite as full featured as the one on your desk, but good enough at letting you know after the event what caused your position such grief.

Contact Locator

Uses GPS and/or GPRS and/or WiFi location services to provide you with a map of everyone in your phone contacts who is within a user defined radius of your current location along with directional and navigational guidance facilities.

Extremely useful.

AirNav Tracker

Provides details of all flights globally and their geographical location via transponder/satellite uplink. Presented in either list or map format.

Arrival/Departure flight time remaining, transponer code, military, commercial and private.

A nerdgeek production, but hey, that's Android for you.

Tony,

I have not familiarised myself with Android but this would concern me from a privacy standpoint. Based on this is it possible to locate any number you may wish to locate or are there some safety measures that mean you are not just able to find any person you wish as long as you have their number ?

Only if they advertise their locations Paul. Paranoids such as I don't

Trade Interceptor: Create a login and you can monitor all kinds of FX crosses provided you have a data connection.

There's also on called MT4 remote which lets you link up to the MT4 on your desktop via an EA. Unfortunately I'm too lazy/indifferent to go through the long setup process.

Morning

Has anyone found a decent android app from which to moitor and modify spread bets? There seem to be plenty for the ubiquitous iPhone but for Android I've only found the RBS marketindex platform, which isn't quite as stable as I'd like.

Any ideas?

P.S. on the topic of iPhone mania, a good giggle can be found on You Tube by searching "iPhone4 vs HTC Evo" (not for those with sensitive ears). And I hasten to add I have no link whatsoever to either party...

Write one. Make money selling it. Fund your trading with the results.

I know it's a bit gay, but isnt it just easier to by a i-phone ?

Apple vs. IBM Compatible
Windows vs. Unix
iPhone vs. Android
...

These is a huge component of religious choice over logic in many of these decisions. Millions devoted to the religion of Android will provide a good customer base for any Android App.

However, I was purposely facetious because, if I understand correctly, spread betting is not legal everywhere.

You are of course absolutely right.
