Sports are important for many reasons.

Sports allows people to play and therefore just because people are playing some sport they are - not bored - not killing others - getting great exercise - enjoying themselves - entertaining others.

Playing some sort of sport lifts people out of depression and works out aggression.

When you play sport, you learn how to play fair (except for Pakistan, obviously, and a few other exceptions).

If people want to see exploitation in sports - it is not sports, it is people.

Have I understood this correctly that the alternative to not playing sport is killing people ?

Many Pakistanis feel the behaviour of their cricket team has brought shame on them.
I really don't think it's fair to pick out one nation.
People are people, don't tar them all with the same brush because of nationality.
That's the pre-requisite of hatred and war.....and killing people.

Playing sports is great. Great for exercise, social, and energy.

Watching sports? Bogus... no reason to watch these guys get paid millions to switch teams every year

5hownewsday - If you had anything from within your own head (or heart) to say, you would post it. Instead you're just lifting these posts from other websites and forums and pasting, not posting, them here.

This guy's posts are just noise, they are copy and pastes from other forums. Don't encourage him by replying.

He's just trying to get his post count up by writing anything and then starts
again a few days later.

Well Sports are an important part of every society, every country, every part of our planet. In one way or another, everyone is involved in sports or some sort, whether they're playing or watching or just know someone who does either. Football, basketball, soccer, badminton, swimming are some of the examples of sports.

Regularly indulging in sports helps in keeping the immune system strong and hence, prevents any kind of disease from occurring. It also increases the appetite of the person. Thus, sports promotes good health.

Sports are very important in this way, It teaches all types of "social skills" as you call them. They teach how to persevere, how to loose graciously, how to coordinate busy schedules, how to keep your body healthy etc.

Yes, sports promote good health. I have much better health now than 5 years ago when I did not do any.

I believe sport is a must for every individual, because it helps to build a great personality, keep our body in good shape, motivates to take challenges, self belief and prove our selves to the world.

It just is it gives you something to do so you’re not sitting around all day and you get exercise and most people become better people because of sports so I would say yes sports are very important in life.
