Does anyone know if there is a way to trade spot FX without a broker? Is there a platform that you can lease and connect with the banks yourself and still be able to use some sort of margin? Assume I have a large amount of money to trade with.

In order to margin trade with banks in the manner which I believe you are suggesting you need to establish one or more lines of credit (depending on the number of banks in question).

How would someone go about this RT? I assume the benifits would be cost and liquidity?

I found this Hedgefundnews.com
It doesn't give too much info, but it's a start.

The only solution I have come up with is either create my own fx brokerage, and make the current fx clients that I manage money for the clients of brokerage and trade as I do now, or lump them all as one and create a hedge fund. My only concern is that there really isn't any FX broker I trust with my money or my clients' money, when we're dealing with large sums.

I couldn't begin to tell you the process for setting up a line of credit - aside from calling the bank and saying "How can I establish a line of credit to do foreign exchange transactions?" I am but a lowly analyst and trader. :cheesy:
