dissertation topic in forex!!

Hi everyone,

I am a MBA (finance) student. I am interested in entering Forex trading in the near future. I have to submit a dissertation and sin I am interested in Forex, I would like to do my dissertation based on it. Since I am fairly new to Forex:rolleyes:, Can anyone please help me with my topic selection:innocent:. Give me some Idea as to what topics I can select and where to get my research done.

Should include the difference between theory and practice. There are many 'experts' on currency trading (including university professors) who spout theory but can't actually make a profit. This is either because their expertise is based on back-testing which is dubious (why should the market this year behave the same as last year?) and usually 'curve fitted' or because emotions always rule intellect when it comes to trading with real money (as opposed to demo trading).

Try reading 'Fooled by Randomness' by Nassim Taleb to understand what 95% of forex traders don't get! Lots of references, too!

Do you have any particular area you would like to concentrate on? MacroEconomics, econometrices etc...??

I am sure there is another thread on this very subject somewhere already
 
yeh i have seen another thread, but not much helpful coz its old. I am intrested in Macroeconomics. please suggest a topic. (dollar pegging, currency basket) something....quick help needed....i am able get a topic. and we need three proposals for submission, that should be unique and have to submit literature review on that proposal. so I am lost.....

^Oh I remember that I did submitted Forex as my Dissertation topic. The scope is very general - from the trading, central bank, and the currency (which currency involves) and how it markets. I did interviewed few people who were expert, and they helped me.
 
can i have more topics? These are very general topic....currently I am in the emirates. Thanx gamma for your topics.

and see if this area is of interest to you. This study attempts to quantify
the mean reversion behavior of implied volatility time series, as observed
from forex option prices. Perhaps you can sharpen and extend some of
these ideas.

Hello mate

What i would advise you will be to Stick to the proper learning about Forex at first and than only deposit real money else never keep in min plzz..
 
This study tries to assess the mean reversion tendencies involving meant volatility moment line, because discovered coming from forex option prices.
