So today i was sitting and just watching things go up and down.

GBP/USD in particular between 12 and 12:30 pm then again at 13 to 13:30 it went up.

In my mind i put this down to people getting their salaries and going out to spend on Christmas presents and staff lunches.

What is the possibility this event may reoccur on the first on November and December if my assumption of the cause is correct.:smart:

Thanks:D

Hi TSLAP, Why don't you check back over previous months to see if there is a pattern? You could be right.

I know that stock markets tend to rally at the end of the months. This is down to fund managers having to allocate cash. I have built positive expectancy trading strategies around this in the past too.

Why do you think people spending on Xmas pressies should affect cable?

Welcome to T2W TSLAP.

I was wondering the same thing and, additionally, are people really starting to think about Christmas already? Perhaps they are - how depressing!

Without wishing to be disrespectful to the OP, I think there is a steep mountain of market understanding to be climbed if he is thinking that way. Or have I missed something?

It gets earlier and earlier, every year, doesn't it? :sneaky:

(M&S food hall is already stocking and promoting almost the full range of Christmas stuff.)

Should I buy shares in turkeys.........?
I'm told they are very popular at this time of year.
Do you go to bucket shops to buy turkeys?

Are you saying that all my christmas pudding options have negative theta?

Have to get the wife on that one - but shes says don't bother freezing them - just eat them out of date - as long as its not like 2 yrs plus out of date

Surely they should put the price up on Christmas Pudding from December 1st

Also does Harrods sell them with £5 coins already in them and Aldi's they only come with just pennies to bite on ? :|

You do realise The Longest Reigning Monarch 2015 UK £5 Platinum Proof Coin costs
£5000 don't you? Which means Harrods will be selling puds containing them for £15000.

Aldis put pfennigs in theirs. They are a patriotic company.

Hi Lucie,
Welcome to T2W.

You need to have a methodology to trade the market(s) of your choice; which will be at the heart of your trading plan. Once you have this and can make consistent profits on your demo account, that's the time to make the transition to live trading, using the smallest position that your broker/platform allows. If, for whatever reason, you're losing money or your results are falling way below those achieved trading demo, then stop trading your live account and return to demo until you suss out what the issue is. If live trading goes more or less according to plan, gradually increase your position size in line with your risk management strategy (also part of your trading plan) and in proportion to the growing equity in your account.
Tim.
