Calculating a forex spreadbet

Hi!

How can i calculate how much a GBP 1per pip spreadbet for eur/usd spot is equivalent in the forex market?

What contract size would a GBP 1 bet equate to?

If you buy EUR / USD at £1 per point at, say, 1.2260 then your position is equivalent to buying £12260 of the contract.

so to calculate in conventional terms i multiply by the GBP/USD rate..

For any currency pair XXX/YYY

If P is the amount you want to bet per pip then

LotSize = 10000 * P / (YYY/GBP rate)

So for eur/usd let's say you want to bet £5 per pip then you need to open a lot size of

USD/GBP rate is 0.5697

10000 * 5 / (0.5697) = 87765

Works great if you're using oanda which allows any lot size.

i am correct in calculating a GBP 1 per pip eur/usd spreadbet is a deal of about USD 22K?
