Japan's current-account deficit in March

Japanese Finance Ministry data released today show, Japan international balance of payments current account deficit of 364.8 billion yen (about 3.84 billion U.S. dollars) in January, is a deficit for three consecutive months.
This is Japan since 1985, the second largest current-account deficit; second to the January 2012 record of 455.6 billion yen (about 4.8 billion U.S. dollars) the size of the deficit.
The data show that Japan's merchandise trade balance of payments deficit of 1.4794 trillion yen (about 15.57 billion U.S. dollars) in January, The balance of deficit of trade in services expanded to 180.2 billion yen (U.S. $ 1.9 billion). However, overseas investment including dividends and interest income, surplus increased by 6.8%, to 1.2284 trillion yen (about 12.93 billion U.S. dollars).
