UK forex broker / micro accounts

I would like to try out some trading systems with real money and for 10c per pip gain on a USD position. I think real money at stake focusses the mind. The systems I want to research result in multiple contracts being opened at multiple market levels.

I have opened an account with Oanda in the US but am put off by the non protection of client's funds in the event of their bankruptcy and the hassle and expense of having to wire them funds.

Are there any companies in the uk that offer trading accounts (and protection of client's funds)allowing 10c per pip gain?

I currently trade using IG markets but the minimum there is $1 a pip.

Hi Mellstock,

FXCM UK has micro accounts that are segregated. Funding is by credit and debit card.

Thank you Jason I have opened an account with FXCM and so far have been very impressed. I am able to use the Micro account as a test bed for trading strategies.

The Micro account has allowed me to be long the EURUSD based on the trend on the daily chart and periodically take shorter term short positions against the longer term long position.

So with the Micro account I find I can trade off the daily chart which I could not afford to do on bigger accounts given the usual daily volatility so am not frequently having make decisions having been stopped out and can benefit from counter trend moves.

Thanks for the question and answer. I have been using Insta for about 2 months now and decided to look for other alternatives broker with minimum spread.
