I have just finished a chat session with FXCM where I raised an issue with two trades, one today, and one yesterday.
What is happening is that I enter an order, with a specified stop and limit. If I then change the entry rate it changes the stop and limit price without my realising.
On both occassions this has resulted in the stops being placed ridiculously close, and I have been stopped out in a few seconds by the spread and movement before I have even realised the trade has entered wrong.
In the chat with FXCM, they tried to recreate the problem, and when they changed the entry rate, the stop and limit did not change, so this appears to be a technical issue possibly with my platform, but may be a wider issue hence the warning.
It should also be noted that I have moved order entries following price on many occassions in the past, and have not had this problem.
I have attached a video to my blog that shows you what I mean as it is much easier than trying to explain in the post.
I am hopeful that this will get resolved satifactorily and FXCM will refund the small amounts lost and I will update accordingly.
Probably the worst thing is the loss of a couple of hours trading and missed opportunites trying to sort it out - never mind!!
