Got an email from FXCM about a contest on their strategy trader platform. Got my interest but I didn't look for long until I read the contest rules and found:
"If you are a winner, you agree that the code of your trading strategy shall be the property of FXCM and the intellectual property rights of such strategy shall be assigned to FXCM without any additional compensation to you."

Good luck with that. I'm out :)

Are you a C# programmer?
 
I see. I'm busy programming my own stuff but send me a private message to give me an idea of what help you're looking for and maybe I can help you anyway.

I am thinking of sending them my EA which cost $1,000,000 .Do they keep it?

If you need any help with C# programming for Strategy Trader, we also have source code and documentation available through our programming wiki www.forexcodesource.com . We will be improving the wiki on an on-going basis, so if you have any suggestions for content, please let me know.
 
We are also providing online assistance for budding C# programmers, including source code, which you can access on our forum at:

As Jason perhaps implies, FXCM's own documentation leaves a bit to be desired, especially for people getting to grips with OOP in general and C# particular for the very first time.

We'll be entering our own "robot" in the FXCM challenge, and making its source code publicly available also.

Hmmm, is there any decent money in offering one's services as a programmer? I've learnt C++ over the last year and am now fairly proficient. I'm guessing that whatever I would charge, someone in India will do it for a tenth of the price..

I also got an email from fxcm about the contest. They required to use C#

My apologies for the tardiness of my reply, but we've been battling bugs in a variety of trading platforms over the last couple of weeks, instead of reading forums!

Hi Jason,

Unfortunately Ray the Random Robot is still rotating rapidly round in circles, unable even to get to the starting line.

I don't suppose you can persuade your techies to offer him some urgent assistance can you? All his pleadings on DailyFX have come to nought so far :(
