Hi,

Recently, found out about people are using software to trade sports anyone have experience with this field?

Thanks.

I trade sports but not using any kind of special software or bits. Just good old common sense and an aversion to losses!

me :)

I do since 04., honestly if you havent rock hard discipline, stay away,, ive made and lost thousands,, usually the market adjusts to the edge you find and profits drop,,, the paranoid part of me thinks when the exchange see your steady increase they do something,, its probably the big boys cash im taking tho ,who are changing the strategies they use but whoever it goes from profitable to loss making in a flash when your running hot, ive even traded a few markets off each other and still after a while the opportunities vanish ,,,i enjoy it because the time of the match is set and the movement is predictable if your watching the match,,, its predicting peoples perception of the match wich can be tricky, one tip il give you is no set strategy works,, youl have to adjust in different directions for each game ,,after a while youl see this and it gets easier
best of luck with it
keep it green and youl be happy,, youl get that saying when you use exchanges

I tried once with Betfair in 2009-10. The had different algorithm of bidding that time that had bugs and if you were clever enough you could make tons of money practically without risk.

Hey trader,

i am also a courtsider
if you want to share trading views and improve the way you trade dont hesitate to add me in skype;theprotrader

Surprised we don't get more stuff on here about sports markets. They are liquid, 'inefficient', transparent(-ish!). 24/7. I think they are nice markets to be in with the right approach. Personally, I am all over them; they are my primary area of activity and I much prefer them to financial markets.

Hi Alliance01,
Either here or in a bespoke thread of your own, it would be great to hear why you prefer them to financials - their pros and cons etc. and, ideally, an insight as to how you trade them.

Lead the way!

Dod gammit!!! A gauntlet!!! I thought gauntlet throwing was banned around here?! I'll start a new thread in the next couple of days (new years resolution ticked off!) and see if we can get a body of people to tune in and contribute etc; it would be useful to have a bit more on 'alternative' markets because I think there is a real gap there.
