After market price activity

Hi,
I've noticed that shares often gap up or down. Is there a way of seeing how much a stock has moved (is moving) outside market hours? I'd like price jumps to be less of a surprise...

Also, what determines these moves? Some men in a smoke filled room deciding where to set the price based on current developments or by futures trading?

Thanx in advance,
D

Also, unless you are actually trading in after hours, don't put much faith in the pricing. It is very volatile since it is more thinly traded and the movements often have nothing to do with what is going to happen at the open the next trading day.
