Spread betting is not possible with MetaTrader although various companies keep saying they will bring it out.

My recommendation would be to abandon spread betting and open up an account with FXPro.com and get tighter spreads, faster fills and a more joyful and profitable experience altogether! In the unlikely event that you make so much money that tax is an issue, you'll make more than enough extra using FXPro to cover the difference...

I cite FXPro because they are very suitable for a beginner with small capital and they have very low margin requirements.
