Where to start... Foreign Exchange or E-Minis???

Hey everyone! I am about to start trading and I am entirely new to the trading world. Been around the internet and know the basics... but wanted to hear from the experienced.

So what would you start with if you had to do it all over again? FX or E-Mini??? Why???

As a purely new developing trading getting his feet wet and learning the trading ropes I would pick forex for the simple reason that you can trade smaller and therefore exposure yourself to less risk at a time when you're bound to make mistakes.

Sweet! Thanks for the advice. I have the open of both. I do like how you can invest minimal with FX, however the leverage can create big losses quickly from my understanding. That is what scares me! There is always stop loss though! Thanks for the post!

There's a lot of leverage in futures trading too. Forget that part of the equation. You determine your risk by the size of the position you trade.

My point is that in mini S&Ps a minimum tick increment (0.25) is worth $12.50. In forex you can trade at increments with much lower $ values.
