Tradestation advice

Hi there.
I am interested in backtesting various trading ideas and wondered what the most affordable way of purchasing tradestation to do this?

define 'affordable'.

open an account with $5K and it halves the platform fees. Trade a bit & the fees almost disappear.

What's affordable to one may not be to another though...

I am not looking to trade through them. I guess I didn't explain myself properly. I just want to be able to back test so any suggestions?

does tradestation offer market depth,time and sales, order flow, tick charts, $tick, $trin ? how much would i have to pay for all of that?

If you are not trading through them then it is about $150 per month plus exchange fees
