cable @ 8235 ???????

hello all, this should probably be in the data feeds or platforms board but there is no one there at the moment so I will ask here. Ok. IG index, IT Deal thru charts, GBP/USD, why does the chart show cable opening at 8235 last night ? ..This has completely trashed every chart above three minutes as any chart over that time frame includes the 8000 pip spike down!!!!!!thus compressing every other candle to the size of a pin head...its wrecked my one of few week days I can get off stare at the screen all day...any ideas...

It's just a bad tick- maybe try looking at some charts from a different provider?

you wouldnt believe it, just logged back on after posting on here and its sorted, no down spike....

yeah I expect it was just an error in their data feed and they've sorted it now.

Guess it's a Reuters D2 issue - either no bid or no offer very briefly, which would mean that if they have an over-simplified algo for calculating a mid rate (Bid+Ask)/2 it'll end up being way way off market.

So if I had to guess I'd say Reuters was showing a 1.6470 bid or offer, with nothing on the other side. That's what you get with bucket shop price feeds unfortunately.
