Interactive Investor and Finspreads allow you to start trading at 10p. There may be others as well.

can someone tell me in dumbo terms what the difference is in a normal platform and a metetrader 4 ? as i believe there are programs or software that you attach to a metetrader but not to a normal platform ? i have not got a clue what i am taking about yet,but i will get there in the end !

Don't use interactive investor or finspreads.

Take a look into oanda or Alpari (if you must)

Hi
You may `d like to know that whichever platform you chose for spread betting, don`t trade forex around the news announcements:LOL:

 Hmm that will be the answer requested then, just the way to keep your stakes low?

just wondered why not interactive or finspreads,is it a personal thing or are they generally no good, and if not any good any particular reasons ? many thanks

All of the mentioned providers offer low stakes or otherwise microlots, beside Oanda is not a spread betting platform. As per my observation, finspreads platform reacted positively to friday`s whipsaw (NFP report), where according to several other retail traders, Alpari`s platform jammed, and they couldn`t get any price. In these conditions spread betting would not be feasible method for news trading, otherwise is perfectly fine. Cheers

Apaarantley MF Global Spreads have reduced their minimum trade size to 20p on all FX, Indices, and Commodities products.

Interactive Investor is finspreads so it's for the same reasons.

If you do a search you can find enough information.

I stopped using them a long time, a few things I experienced was getting logged out and having to log back in while in positions. Being logged out for no reason and not able to log back in. Going to telephone trading, not getting filled and so on. The above should be enough to read up on though.

In order of preference you should look into IG (although you have the problem with the time limits at stakes). Oanda (bit of a pain to open an account but worth it) and Alpari (a bit irritating with fills, but you can trade small, good charts - but I had to leave them as I got fed up)
