Hi can anyone tell me what the generally accepted average daily trading range is for Dow Cash and for FTSE cash?

no, there is no generally accepted average range. it depends on the lookback period used.

for dow cash:

10 day atr is 222 pts
100 is 349 pts
1000 is 162pts

Thanks JM99, where is this info posted for further review, or does one have to calculate it manually?

You should have an ATR indicator available with your charting software. If not check out something like stockcharts.com.
