Yes,

For me it was what I thought I understood best and what affects it.

I trade primary indices. However I keep an eye on cable/oil and gold and will trade those occasionally when I feel confident in oversold/overbought levels.

However I'm not actually convinced you need to know your market in depth as this can often cloud your judgement. As a technical trader you should trade what you see - not what you think.
