Hello,

My name is Ron and I'm a new member. Just found this site today and hopefully will find it beneficial. Maybe with some luck I can be helpful to others as well.

Seems that not all futures brokerage firms handle Brent Crude contracts. Anyone know of a good brokerage firm that does? I prefer an on-line (internet based) trading platform. I'm located in the U.S. but don't think that will present a problem. Time will tell.

Thanks,

Ron

Please disregard my above post.

I'll probably just trade the light sweet stuff, for convenience sake, anyway; ... but not yet. I don't think the time's right yet to go long. Either one or both of two events would probably be a good signal: A missile strike on Iran (by Israel) or the decision to dump shiploads of billions of dollars into the US economy and infrastructure (not the banks). I think either one would start pushing oil prices up. ... Sure wish I had a crystal ball !!

Good luck to all,
Ron

Why wait for it to go up? The whole point of trading is that you can go short instead of long and that there is enough of a move during a single day to make a profit, up or down. There was a great profit to be had shorting crude yesterday...

I know. But I'm not exactly a day trader, mainly because I don't have the time to watch it closely ... and I don't like using stops, because I honestly believe the floor traders can see them. And if they see a large enough concentration of them near enough to the trading price, they can bump the price into them and let them take over from there.

Anyway, I understand your thinking, but when some key event is ready to take place the prices will probably head north in a big way.

Good luck and thanks for your post,
Ron
