Hi

I am UK resident being offered US$20.50 for General Components shares that are restricted. Matterhorn Intlernational & ZRG Holdings Limited are seeking US$5,500.00 to arrange for the restriction on the shares to be removed so that they can proceed with the sale of the shares.

This looks like a scam to me - anyone else had similar approach please

John

Your post does not make it clear whether they are offering the shares to you or asking you to buy shares from them.

If the former then why would you want to buy an illiquid asset in today's financial climate?
If the latter then are you happy to sell them at that price?

I assume from the sentence with "$5,500.00" in it that you mean the company is asking you for that amount?
If so, contact the registrars of the company and find out if this is possible.

Looking up "General Componants" on Bloomberg ultimately leads me to "China Mobile Media Technology" . . .
"China Mobile Media Technology, Inc. is a multi-channel sales and marketing
company that develops and sells proprietary-branded digital mobile devices,
primarily smart phones."

currently quoted USD 0.006 / 0.008 (down from a high of USD29 back in 2005)

ZRG Holdings Lilmited/General Components

I already own the shares in General Components and Matterhorn International say that they have a buyer prepared to offer US$20.50 for each of my shres so that the buyer can obtain over 50% of the shareholding in the company.

The agents (Matterhorn via ZRG Holdings Limited the Stock Transfer Agency)are asking $5,500 to arrange for the Restriction under the Securities Act 1933 Rule 144 to enable my shares to be sold by issuing a new Electronic Share Certificate that is negotiable on the market.Matterhorn will take 2.5% Commission on the sale of my shares. I still have the option to buy the warrants at US$1.95 per warrant on a ratio of 5:1 if I wish.If I did then my sale of shares would be suitably adjusted to accomodate the higher holding.

I am concerned that this is a boiler room scam enticing me to send monies for which I will never see the sale proceeds of the shares. My holding is 5000 shares

If the buyer wishes to take control of the company and then its assets and he maybe linked to the China Mobile Media Technology, Inc that you mention but even that looks dodgy at the price you say they are quoted at.

I too have been offered cash for a (different) restricted US Security by Matterhorn International. As with your offer, there is a catch: they want me to send them some money first to lift the restriction. Also the price offered is well in excess of the current price: why don't they buy the shares in the open market? I am certain it is a scam.

Has any one had any sucess getting money out of Matterhorn. They currently want $12,000 Offshore Withholding Tax in order to give me a large payou on Sienna technology Shares.

I have been offered a similar amount by Washington Roberts Management (office in Prague!) with a requirement for me to pay $0.20 per share as an 'Equity Registration Charge'. Then they would arrange purcahse at $2.25 per share in General Components Inc. who are being bought out/ have been bought by China Media.

It certainly sounds very dodgy...

I have been approached by Washington Roberts Management in the last 2 weeks. A similar offer for my shares in GRLY. They will buy off me at $12.85 after I have paid for registration at $1.25/share. Appear professional - I have asked for reference (someone who has already been through same process) and it has been provided.

Does anyone have more information on these deals and this company?

Washington Roberts also provided an 'Insured Payment Guarantee' from the 'Mergers and Acquisitions Regulatory Commission' MAREGCOM, who are supposedly based in Tokyo. I believe this organisation is bogus. Both the MAREGCOM web-site and the Washington Roberts web-site have been in existence only two months. The telephone call I received from MAREGCOM appeared to come from a call-forwarding service and not from Japan. Everything seems to be part of an elaborate scam...

This the reply I received from the City of London Police:
Thank you for submitting information to Operation Archway at the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau. Operation Archway is the national intelligence database for mass share-marketing (or boiler room) fraud. The information you have submitted will be added to the database to support new and ongoing investigations into boiler room fraud, and we appreciate your taking the time and effort to assist.

Operation Archway does not undertake investigations into individual complaints - please report your personal case to your local police station (ask to speak to the Economic Crime Unit if your local force has one, or to your local CID). Due to the large number of emails we receive, the team cannot provide an individual response. However, the information you have provided forms an integral part of the Operation Archway database and contributes to the national intelligence picture.

If you have not completed the Operation Archway questionnaire and wish to submit information, please do so using that document, which can be found on the City of London Police website (www.cityoflondon.police.uk <file://www.cityoflondon.police.uk> ). The website also has useful links to other agencies involved in tackling mass marketing fraud, explains more about Operation Archway and has advice on preventing further crime.

Any additional information can be submitted to [email protected].

If you have remitted funds, or have been asked to remit funds, to a British bank account for the purchase of shares you now consider to be fraudulent, please re-submit your email entitled BRITISH BANK ACCOUNT.

If you have remitted funds, in the last three weeks, to a bank account you now believe to be fraudulent, please contact your own bank immediately and ask for the Fraud Department. You can then request the funds are returned to you.

Once again, Operation Archway would like to thank you for your submission. Please accept this message as acknowledgment of receipt of your message.

Read the boiler rooms scams thread here on T2W, you will see many similar stories. This is without doubt a typical boiler room scam and they are now hitting you for the advance fee part of the scam. No matter what excuse they give you do not send any more money, they are going to steal it, remember these are the same crooks that scammed you originally, now they are just using a new name.

There has been an FSA warning on Matterhorn for over a year

I also have had Washington Roberts Management offer a generous price for some Paradigm Advanced Technologies shares. They have issued me with a Insured Payment Guarantee from Maregcom in Japan and now want me to send money. Unfortunately I think it is a case of 'if it seems too good to be true it probably is'.

Yes its the second part of the scam, if you send them the money it will disappear. It doesnt matter what excuse they give you, they use false escrows, insurance agents, transfer agents etc. They know they caught you once so they assume they can fool you again.

It would appear that Paradigm is a long running scam.

A neighbour of mine was approached directly by phone by Washington Roberts who had his full details. After coughing up the share transfer 'fees' he was then approached for a substantial additional payment to remove 'warrants' on those shares. This he refused to do and has now passed over all details to the FSA who are convinced it is a scam. For those others of you who have been approached, did you at any time have dealings with the fraudulent organisation 'Pacific Continental'?

I just joined the board today and have done an extensive investigation on this SCAM. I posted details of it on my " introduction post ". That is the brokerage house that had held shares of my unofficial client. They used Accupoll and Rudy Nutrition (RUNU) as their "bait". Client never owned either of these. I have in my possession the initial contact letters, contracts, forged stock certificates etc. Their bouncing their calls out of Ontario Canada and Europe. Sites are new and warnings can be found about the Tokyo " front " on the FSA site . Anyone having phone numbers used by WRM please post them. I'm collecting hardline locations. Thank you.

Thank You Gur: but I should have been more specific. I have the business numbers but what I'm looking for is the #s that appear on the caller ID's of intended victims. Have not seen the " offical business number " appear when these animals call yet. Looks like they're using a bunch of forwarding services to cover their tracks as usual.

Remember they can get skype in or other voip numbers for any country they want. Even if they show on caller Id it doesn't mean they are in that country
