Could anyone please assist me? I have account with IG and am interested in automation for trading – to take out emotions. Is it possible to trade automatically on the IG PureDeal platform? If so, could you tell me what I need to do? And how I should go about it?

Unlikely that it is possible and if it is do you have the coding expertise?

Why not just open up a MetaTrader account and go down the easy, tried and tested route?

I did write a VB program that auto traded IG Index - it's easy enough if you are a decent enough programmer to handle the web elements and interact with them. However, I have now moved to metatrader myself so agree with the above.

Tank you. I don't have the coding expertise either for the backtesting on PureDeal or metatrader. I'll take your suggestion and now open a MetaTrader account.

Thank you for your question. Your question seems to be somewhat cryptic to me and I don't have an answer for you! I hope that either £10KLoser or north5 (or other members) would give us an answer.

I do understand your post note: Plan the Trade and Trade the plan. What you mean by 'Panic and start guessing....' Please can you explain - I'll be very grateful to you.

Sorry for the cryptic question: I was just asking really what kind of a system Metatrader was. I've deliberately been out of the trading game for some months, and I'd actually forgotten that I'd looked at this once before; just refreshed my memory with some googling. Sorry for being lazy and not looking myself before

My Sig: well the first part is a well known cliché, probably none the less true for being a cliché. The second part is simply a lame attempt at humour on my part...
