Backtesting

Looking to have a very simple trading strategy backtested..
I use sharescope but it has no backtest facility.

Is there a website that I could backtest data on?

Any ideas please?

For which market(s)?

This metatrader will give you a few years data on various currencies, stocks, shares, commodities and indices.

Prorealtime has a backtesting and strategy testing facility. It is FREE for EOD data.

Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping that I could avoid having to buy additional software, unless it was cheap. I was wondering if there is a free website where backtesting is possible.

I am interested in bactesting a 5/20 day SMA crossover strategy with a volume filter - on the FTSE 100 index.

get NINJA TRADER for backtesting. you can backtest through it.

TickQuest Inc. Products & Services
Go to the bottom of the page and download the EquityMonaco monteCarlo simulator, it is free of charge and you should be able to feed the data from Sharescope.
