I have started to trade recently about 4 months. I have few questions regarding day trading. I would really appreciate everyone's input here. I did lost much money during the learing time.

1) Is there any specific time range for day trading. I spoke to few people and they mentioned that during 9:30~10 and 3~4 is very volarity hours and not a good time to trade? Is it true? Please advise.

2) I tried with pivot point and support point to trade it didn't help much.

3) What are the rules i need to follow for day trading.

Most of the people who start trading loose money. That's a bad start. Read the article with the Top 10 tips for successful trading on this website. That's an answer to your 3rd question.

1st question: I use to skip the first 30 minutes ('amateur hour' - people who do some trading or send their orders before they go to work). Then the professional traders take over and the trend might change (it was the case last Friday on the Dutch AEX). In general, volatility is good, so make use of it in an appropriate way.

2nd question: I use Japanese candles and western TA instruments. I trade day and week options on the Dutch AEX index on a 5 minute scale and use ma4/9/18 + dmi/adx (4) + macd (9,16,6) + japanese candles for entering/leaving positions. I also make use of month/day/15-30 minute scale charts to get the bigger picture.

Hope this helps a bit, good luck!
