Hello everybody

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I am a complete novice to trading and over the last 4 months i have been researching different trading courses nationally. I have finally found 2 companies who offer in house training with the opportunity to be backed by them once the successfully completing the course which excites me.

Ofcourse they are requesting an up to date CV - something which i do not have as i have run my own firm for the last few years in the property market.

Could anybody give me any advise or tips on how to present my CV and what specific skills/terminology i should include? They also seem to like graduates which i am not, so any tips on how to get around that bit too?

FYI my background as mentioned above is property - got the last 4 years I was running my own investment property consultancy, business objective was to help private investors create/grow their property portfolio safely and quickly using unique financing tools and legal work. Sadly due to the credit crunch and the lenders lack of commitment to the market i slowly started to wind the business down in Dec 2007 when i had 8 property brokers employed. In May 2008 i finally managed to close the business down before making any major losses.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated as this is a business i would love to get involved with.

Also any interview tips?

Many thanks

I will break it down in easy steps: :)

Step1: Try find a CV layout for an investment bank [1page] (google it)
Step2: Try understand what is a traders job (Prospects -Real Estate contact Management Software.)
Step3: Get Vault guide to Sales and Trading (Amazon.com) or online copy
Step4: Network

Succesful traders are mavericks. Make your CV different from the boring norm...

They glance and CVs and think 'usual crap'. Chances are, you won't get the job (statistically) so take a risk and blast their eyeballs to at least stand out! But, make it intelligent.

Do you think Richard Branson would submit a conventional CV? I think not.

Richard Branson is not a trader

conventional CV [pink like legally blonde 2] lol

Getting a trading job in the City at the moment is very very difficult

Duh! Are you trying to rack up your posts with obvious comments? Neither is the person asking for advice a trader - the whole point being that this is a CV for a person who is not a trader...
