Good evening forum,

I am very interested in a career as a trader and I would be grateful for some honest advice about my prospects.

Bascially, I graduated from the London School of Economics in Dec 06 with a masters in economic history. Since I have worked for an investment bank (an internship in Project Finance and then my current role which is operational).

I understand that to trade you must be FSA regulated and that you must have FSA 1 and at least one other to be FSA licensed.

Would it be worth my while studying for these two units and paying myself. Would I realistically have any chance at being a junior trader? I have applied for numerous grad roles in this sort of environment but I have got absolutely nowhere! I don't really want to spend a couple of grand on these course (on top of my masters which I think in hindsight was a complete waste!) to be back in the same position.

I can not program (I have VB skills and some SQL only!). On the other hand, I am hard working, articulate and I can handle pressure well.

I would be grateful for any advice for an aspiring 25 year old trader!

Thanks very much,
Michael
