Futures

is it possible that i am getting gain in the cash market and also in the future market ??? .... if it is possible then whats the reason ???? .... basis risk can be the reason but due to the basis risk the cash and the future market doesnt move with the same value but still cash and future market are inversely proportional to each other... but how is it possible that i am gaining in the cash market as well in the future market ?? .... please i have to give reason to my professor and i couldnt find one ...help me !!
