Back testing

Back testing Forex

I'm a beginner at Forex trading and have so far confined my activities to demo trading. I now wish to back test some different strategies. I'm hoping someone can recommend some software that will allow me to test as if I were trading for real with a virtual account. I want to scroll through the charts at my own rate, manually making my trades, setting stops and limits, number of lots, spread etc. I'm looking to test a year or two's worth of data.

What would be really great would be the facility to input entries under a particular strategy for, say, a year's worth of data, then see the difference that different combinations of stops and limits would make to profit/loss.

I'll need charts in all the common time frames + usual indicators. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

there is a metatrader EA which allows you to do exactly this on the forex factory forums somewhere, am at work at the moment so can't search but will try and find it later if you don't have any luck finding it yourself.

(To any concerned parties) I am aware of the potential problems with back testing btw... But I do believe that it is a good place to start in determining whether a strategy has any chance!
