Ok, I have Sky next to my PC. What channel should I be tuned into?!

Im trading daily, is there any point in listening to a channel like Bloomberg?

Fantasy XX, obviously.

Oh, and Norm in his New England woodworking shop.....

The days just FLY BY

listen to radio 4 at least there are some intelligent humorous people there unlike the financial channels
but anything is better than than the American financial gurus plugging their rubbish.

Radio 4 - interesting people
Radio 3 - interesting music
Radio 5 - what your average Sun reader thinks + breaking general news / sport
CD - when all above fails.

Nice thing about eod is you don't need to get bogged down with hot financials etc.

Cnbc can be helpful because I've seen buffet etc move markets when they're talking on tv. Like a hundred points on the dow. Plus they're essential to hear central bank testimony before it comes up on Reuters. And I recommend Cnbc over Bloomberg because the presenters are significantly more attractive.

Would agree that listening to any of the advice of the so called experts is silly though.

If you have time keep track of as much news as possible; I've heard things from very unlikely sources many crucial minutes before they appear on a news source. It hasn't happened yet but I expect t2w will alert me to some news one of these days.

*a while back buffet sent the 10yr's plummeting when he announced his muni bond deal (?); all live on CNBC.

*I think Faber sometimes has useful things to say.

*Erin Burnett

And on the other hand (recall Erin Burnett; pun intended..... ;)) Bloomberg has that fu**ing music and less "totty on the telly!!!!!". Still, wouldn't use any of the above (except Buffet news) to trade, only to have some noise in the background.

Bloomberg has that fu**ing music

Ah! I am glad to see someone else agrees with me.
It drives me :mad::mad:
And every time before an important announcement you have to listen to it.
:mad::mad:

Does it help? Have you ever based a trade on what the TV says?

CNBC for me is good for breaking news. And a must anymore for Scalping. (Helps explain my crazy slippage at times)

IMHO,
Trading the news for me isnt as much about what someone may say (gurus, experts, advisors, etc...) It's about your interpretation on how much "Fear"/'Greed" is in the individual stock picks.

Some of my Best and biggest stock picks have been because of some news/breaking event and the individual stock GOT HAMMERED premarket. And once you see those type of news (ones that HAVE NO baring on company profits) It's a true gift! Easy money.

I think the only thing I make a point of watching is ECB press conference and any Fed testimony. Otherwise it's CNBC for the laydeeeees.

Bloomberg .... apart from some solid eye candy I fade daily the fx reco's including buy GBPJPY 205.60.

FADE so sell 205.60 , its already given 60 piplies (y)

"Deidre Bolton" just makes me think of the north and its occupants; and I had heard that Julie's Father is the Mayor of Bayswater - apparently it took twenty fireman to break down...
