I have been reading the thread about the 3 Duck mehtod and was wondering if anyone has done any work on the use of bollinger bands with this method as entry and exit points. Thank you :clover:

If you try to find the journal thread i think the poster is using fib extensions for profits, SR for stops..

Hi,

I use a similar approach to the 3 Ducks (different MA's) using Keltner Channels and SR. I did look at using Bollinger Bands but found KC works better for me. That's not to say it would be the same for you... As with all things I'd do some investigation of your own and see if you can make it work for you.

Cheers.

why not add CCI , MacD and some RSI while you are all at it ?

worth a shot ?

As well as MacD, I've heard that BK and KFC are also pretty tasty.

Seriously though, of all the standard indicators, the RSI does stand out.

what about a "strength meter"?

.......but dont quote me, i've never known any one to find an edge with it :)

Thats sooooo low rent.

Aside from Bollinger bands, I use Beluga Strength Indicator, and am working on a Krug Trend Indicator.
Am trialling a Venison OB/OS EA.

EDIT: in all seriousness, sric, the addition of increasing numbers of indicators gives a diminshing return. the straightforward 3Ducks allows you to gauge trend, a pullback or two, and quantify an entry, potential risk, etc.
Adding more indicators just complicates things.
If you can quantify a different edge, go for it, and do the research.

Yep, I use the 1 SMA, and a cross hair - somtimes i'll pull a fib, one the whole, one line one kill :)

The joke, the indicator, or both?
