Confusion re candles

I'm learning this business and making progress (and didn't I choose an interesting time to start! ) and I've been looking at stockcharts.com but I'm a little confused (situation normal :cheesy. Can someone please explain the difference between:

Red outlined candles that are white shaded
Black outlined candles that are white shaded
Red outlined candles that are red shaded
Black outlined candles that are black shaded
