Hi,

Which platform gives the possibility to reduce risk with the lowest stakes or lots?

Depends on what market you're looking to trade. In forex Oanda has no fixed lot sizes so you can literally trade 1 USD, 1 EUR, or 1 GBP if that's what you want to do. They also have no minimum account size or deposit.

But may I trade 0,01 USD per point or 1 USD per 100 points? I want to trade with minimal risk. I believe in trends but I'am afraid of some short-term market moves which can kick me out of the market..:(

Oanda allows you to trade any size. Just make sure you have stops set.

Play with their player account.

Thanks!

So in fact it is possible to create any leverage I want? For example if index is 1.0000 and will change to 2.0000 I can loose / win:

1 dolar with stake 1$ per 1,0000 points
1 000 dolars with stake 1$ per 0,001 points

Am I right?

Is it a UK company? I'm interested but have lead in my shoes when it comes to opening accounts with new companies.

Ditto. I'm only on a live account with IG. Am very tempted by Oanda (US-based) because of the amount of control you have eg no minimum stops, can move stops and tp on the graphs themselves.

Hi guys.
I've recently been getting into forex and have been demoing the oanda platform. I really like it. Trading at just the equivilent of 40p per point I have managed to make over £100 the past two days in a row.

So....Is it easy to open an account?
I notice the margin requirements seem quite large. Is there an option to choose your leverage when you open an account?
Is the platform disconnecting itself a common problem?...Its the only bad point I've noticed since demoing the platform.
Anything I should know about from people whi have tried them? Hidden costs for withdrawing money?? spread changes? etc...

thanks

Oanda does allow you to change your margin setting, but the highest leverage setting allowed is 50:1. Believe me, you almost certainly won't need anything higher than that.

Aside from that, Oanda is a pretty no-nonsense broker.

Thanks for replying Rhody.

Am now a little confused with the account opening process. Have started a seperate thread.
