Hi Guys,
So i'm using a Trading 212 demo account at the moment and seem to find that every time I want to buy into the market, whatever it may be, my buy in price is always much higher than the actual price at the time. Same for selling.
Now i understand these guys have to make money but is this spread so large because they aren't a very good broker or are they all like this.
To give you an example, right now im looking at EUR/USD on the 5 minute time frame. The current market price is 1.07795 and for me to buy in they are offering me 1.07804 so im at an instant disadvantage. It makes it quite difficult to set SL and TP also. Can anyone shed any light on this and is this the industry standard.
Thank you in advance, hope its not a silly question.
Regards.

Thats normal Austin, you buy at the ask and sell at the bid, 0.9points in your case. Back int day I remember 4points EURUSD being small! lol

Welcome to trading ......:p

Spread,is the cost of doing Buisness .......you have to pay to play......try and keep it to a minimum and then live, with it

You will, find millions of posts re,people slagging off brokers

But without them you cannot trade

So don't waste too much energy on this.......just find a broker that's ok and focus on how,to make, money trading .......it will never be free

Hi Guys,
I had a feeling that was the case just wanted to double check as some times its also a lot higher than the numbers i quoted earlier, especially on an up market. It makes sense and thanks for clearing that up.

If you are trading a demo account then i guess besides this broker you can also check demo with another reputed broker to compare both price feeds and order execution just as a reference in my opinion.
