Default How old for trading at a firm?

Hi guys just joined your forum.
Im a 40 yo guy with a msc in physics at a russel group uni.
Never traded before but would like to.
I would like some advice regarding the follow:
With your experience do you think a firm offering a trading programme would consider me too old to invite me to join? ie if i apply to one of those programms will i be in a weaker position wrt younger guys and probably will not even be considered, thou not told that is the main reason, due to my age?

Cheers

I am a little younger than you but suspect it should not be an issue

40 years is a mature age for trading and I don't think that it will be an issue. You can join any trading program.

Hi thanks for the reply.
By mature u mean it is a good thing?
I wld say i find myself with a much broader view n analysis strategic capabilities than when i was 20 but def less speed in fast processing info.
Wld u say just looking at age parameter, who they prefer?
I have no idea on this,
But i will soon find out..

According to a business survey( I forgot website link) who started business after 45 or above got stable success in business, on the other hand who started business in early age means around 20 or something did not run their business long time not get much success as well. (Facebook owner and few are exception)

"OLD IS GOLD" still popular in business. So, I think maturity play some role in business success.

It is good thing that you were much confidence at the age of 20.
