I am a newbie to trading and this website as well. Let me introduce myself a bit. I am a new comer from the far east and would like to trade ES and Euro. As a beginner, I have some questions, hopefully not too stupid.
1. what's the meaning of uptick/downtick? i search the web and got some explanation. But i have a query. If the traded price remains unchanged, eg $10, for previous bar and current bar, does it mean an uptick/downtick or neither?
2. is it possible to capture the dollar volume of the index or exchanges? For example, could we capture the dollar hitting bid/ask price? Does it mean an uptick/downtick volume?
