I'm thinking of taking the spreadbetting course supplied by Mr Whisson and am wondering if anyone has any experience of it.
Regards
Ale

Hi, I have done his spreadbetting course. It is okay if you are a complete beginner. Most of the modules will give you information on spreadbetting which is freely available on the internet. The core of his theory involves two finding trends using three MA crossovers - nothing new there - and then he has a 'bounce' entry strategy based on the RSI and MACD.
When I did the course in mid-2005, he dedicated very little of the course to risk management in any meaningful context and barely mentioned correct placement of stoplosses, let alone the most fundamental aspect of trading - like position sizing!
Stu seemed a genuine bloke. He was very slow to return modules on occasion but he is not a scam artist. His website lacked professionalism but he is not a cheat, like some out there.
However, when all is said and done, I do not consider what I learnt from him as more than very basic knowledge which may assist in my own trading strategy.

I think you have summed it up well. A genuine guy, but poor content in the course. I have only just done it.

If you do a search you will find there is a lot of discussion about this on other threads.

Hi guys,

Stu Whisson here! You can read a guide that I provided T2W with earlier this year, which is taken from the full course at Insight. Here's the link:

http://www.trade2win.com/knowledge/spreadbetting/guides/spread-betting-guide/

Any questions, please let email me directly at stu [at] insightsupport [dot] com - click this to email! - you're more than welcome to take the free course also.

I feel that somehow those above have over simplified my techiques somewhat - bounces and retraces rely more on knowing how to monitor support and resistances and using the retracement tool properly - some people have written books just on that. Furthermore, the very use of that tool effectively allows for accurate stops to be placed also. The use of indicators in the course are there not as an pure and direct entry exit, certainly not with bounces and retraces; they're there to add weight to a decission. I certainly wouldn't recommend someone to trade simply based on indicators. Trading using indicators alone is the reason why so many people fail at trading. The course has grown a great deal over the years and so has the services of Insight.

Enough of my natter, check out the above articles is anyones interested in spreads. Perhaps try the free course.

Any questions, here to help!

Stu
