Hi all, I'm investigating this trading business to see if it's for me. I am currently working as an NHS manager and I know that in the coming months redundancy is a real possibilty (cheers for that D Cam et al).

Anyway, I have been thinking about what direction I may like to take and trading is one that interests me. I have been following a blog of someone who's taken a similar step to the one I'm considering from NHS management. I've started reading up on the net and have ordered some books to take with me on an upcoming holiday. So far I have Trading in the Zone, Market Wizards and Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.

At the moment I am investigating spread betting.

Take a look at Euro Daily Trader from theforexclub.eu?

How does this guy get several spamming posts approved by the moderator and yet I posted something yesterday questioning the motives of one of the regular wind up merchants here and it gets deleted???? (n)

to be fair to the mods those spam posts aren't approved by them. there's no post approvel system as such here, although there is/was a system that attempts to intercept spam. when they arrive on the scene the spam will be dealt with. you could also ask them as to the whereabouts of your post rather than slag them off :)

Slagging off is a strong term, but yeah I was gonna ask them what happened but wasn't sure on how to go about it. Anyway back onto the original topic, sorry to the OP.

Thanks for the welcome Lightning. I guess this forum has its fair share of spam like everywhere else eh?

Hi

Are you aware that most people don't make it in this business ? If yes then welcome to the boards :)

I've seen the 90-95% figure here and there.

My plan is to do my research, trade paper for a while and when I finally start risking my real hard earned cash, risking it small. In the meantime I'm accepting all the free Excel training I can lay my hands on at work. :cheesy:

(previous post was not directed at the OP in particular, who may well turn out to be a totally stand up bloke. Just ranting, you know)

err... yeah, I'm a taxpayer. Do your ***in job first, eh? And don't complain about the PM and "the Cuts" for your potential redundancy, if you c*nts in the NHS could organise a **** up in a brewery it would run at 70% of the cost it does now. There is such a gulf between public sector layabouts and the private sector... and yet another between self employed people in the private sector... it's totally mad.

Be prepared to get taken out of your comfort zone by about a zillion percent.

Nice. You know nothing about my comfort zone.

Oh, and I'm a woman. Thankfully a thick skinned one.
