Hi,

Could someone explain how much money I would require to earn £10 per pip in my broker account trading 1 standard lot? Does leverage apply to your deposits or only profits?

Thanks.

It's not the size of your account, but rather the size of your position that determines pip values. From there, it's the maximum amount of leverage your broker permits that determines the minimum amount of margin money you need in your account for a position of that size.

£10 a tick is FAR too much if you're just starting out.

Try 10p a tick instead.

Do more than that in the beginning and it won't take long for you to lose a lot of money.

Okay so I deposit £1000 with a broker can I take with 10,000 unit of currency or more or less? So, will my account on metatrader 4 actually show 10,000 worth of money?

Instead of 5 months of asking an endless spaz of questions how about opening a demo account and actually doing some work and finding out some answers. Might do all of us some good.
