I'm thinking of trading future's and commodies, this will be a long term trade. Buy and hold. Were talking about month's or year's, where I just leave money in my account and not worry about it. I did some fundamental analysis and think most commodies will go up.

There is a number of commodie's i want to buy, I'm not sure how to do it.

I know how to trade stock's, option's and spread betting. I've learnt candle's and technicial analysis. I'm just not sure how to trade future's or commodies.

I have an options xpress account, do they trade future's?

What broker's do people use to trade commodies or futures, thanks :)

You need to understand that futures and commodities are seperate concepts. There are loads of different types of futures, some of which are commodities, but not all commodity trading is done via futures. For the type of thing you seem to be after, you may be best off looking at ETFs.

I believe if you are looking for long term investments with commodities and futures you need a minimum of $100k. Make sure each trade is no more than 5% max risk, so take that into account with your stop placement. Long term trading on commodities will make you rich, but day trading pay's the bills :)

Yeah I'm studying Hot Commodie's by Jim Roger's, it just seem's easier for me just to study History, Economic's and just sit and wait :)

Yes, definately long term :D

I am planning to switch to long-term trading after looking at its huge rate of return in compared to short term trading.
