Hi
I'm pretty new to trading - limited FX, looking at equities.
Has anyone had any dealings with the Eden Brown Group. They are Barcelona based and are Bafin regulated. They are a Tied Agent of Amini Financial Services GmbH which is FSA regulated. They claim an historical involvement in the IPO of Veridis which is why I got a Google hit from this site.
I'm suspicious by nature so would really like to hear if anyone has experience - good or bad with them.
Many Thanks
Mike

Hi and many thanks for that quick response. I had already decidde to have no dealings with them. They "suggested" they were Bafin regulated by including a link to teh Bafin website in an email but now that I look more closely at the Bafin website I realise that only Amini Financial Services GmbH (of whom Eden Brown are a tied agent) are regulated.
Thanks again.

Has anyone had successful share-buying experiences with the Eden Brown organisation in Barcelona, please? They are currently raising money for a new Asian iron-mining venture and promoting it to small private investors.Furbysmum

Of course in Bangkok, the "Eden Brown" is something completely different.

Actually, not that different, just a different sort of a-hole to this mob

And for some reason only 3% to 4% do anything about being scammed or even report it. The other 96% to 97% of the victims are too embarassed and want to forget about it. This is why the scammers get away with it. Someone once said that boiler rooms took in £200 million annualy in the UK. When you look at this number, the actual figure may be 6.5 billion. This is money that is taken out of an economy and never to return. These boiler room scammers have been laughing at the law too long. They have ruined America and are now working on the rest of the world. They have enough nerve to say they work for a living. They think they have great intelligence and work hard when they are low life, greedy, habitual liers with no conscience.

Did you ever go ahead and invest money with Eden Brown Group? If so, have you ever tried to cash any of your investments in? One of my relatives has been sending them money and I feel there's something not quite right about them.

Seems a lot of information has been deleted from this thread. If you deal with any of these companies you will lose your money.

I am interested to hear from anyone else that has had dealings with Eden Brown Group. Good or Bad. They are not (nor do claim to be) Bafin regulated. Its not clear if they are a tied agent to Amini but they do not appear to be on the FSA site as such. But since they are not UK based would they be anyway?

They haven't oversold to me and if the investments I have made turn out to dodgy I can live with it.

If you bought any sort of investment from a cold caller then you've been scammed. There was lot's of information here but it was deleted and I don't think anyone is inclined to do the research again.

If you still need convincing then you're probably lining yourself up to be scammed again, most likely by people who will offer to recover your initial losses.

OK thanks. Shame the info got deleted. I have shares (bought through EBG) which are quoted on Frankfurt Exchange - admittedly pretty illiquid. But I could see the price before the purchase and the offer made to me (fundraising for a buyout). So if I've been scammed by investing in a company that ultimately fails, I guess that's the risk I took. But I am treading carefully given what I have read

Many of those companies on the Frankfurt exchange and on the pink sheets are set up as part of the fraud. Basically they exist in name only, they never do any business but constantly send out press releases saying theyve found the cure for aids or a way to make oil out of water. Sounds ridiculous but the SEC have just charged a bunch of people doing something similar at a company called Biodefense Corporation. They claimed to have invented a machine that destroyed anthrax and chemical agents in letters and packages. The device looked suspiciously like the inside of a washing machine.

Just to clarify you were scammed when you bought the shares from a cold caller. There was only ever going to be one result because it was all set up in advance. This wasn't a bad investment it was a fraud.

yes they were claiming to be fsa registered via tie up with Amini. Amini fsa registration merely passported via the bafin registration.

the information they were claiming re being a tied agent to Amini doesn't now appear on their website - probably never ever tied to Amini and they've been found out scamming it and were likely probably told to remove info from their webby.

if you've bought shares through them then likely a bit dodgy, may we know the name of the stock you purchased from them? it'll likely not be pretty once we get googling, motley fool will most probably be full of sorrow stories re the stock and eden brown.

Jumeirah Resources PLC (JMR). A dark room with a bottle of whisky beckons. I am told to expect a positive press release shortly, but it could be a load of balony - like everything else it seems.

thanks mike (y)

in the meantime here's a pic of ebg claim of a bafin reg tie up, this one circa 2011. i can't find any 2012 docs yet. but i will :D

i reckon they're blaggers re their registration credentials, and change it like the wind when they're rumbled.

ok here's the bafin and fsa claim verbatim from the webs (their pdf client application doc, document created 15/04/2011)

"Eden Brown Group sl. is the Authorised Intermediary of Amini Financial Services GmbH, authorised and regulated by the BaFin, No. 119467. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) for the conduct of UK Investment business...."

so there is clearly a mismatch between their website info and the pdf doc from 2011 - scam, their ar$e doesn't know what their elbow is doing (n)

not looking too good re JMR shares

Jumeirah Resources PLC (ticker code JMR) is a development stage company focused on the acquisition and development of low cost high reward oil and gas prospects with infield drilling for proven potential reserves in the United States and Canada (ALLEGEDLY)
Unfortunately, with a very professional web-site, many investors, including myself have been sucked into buying "paper" shares which need to be transferred into Electronic versions to be able to trade. The price has fallen like a stone since April 2012, and on investigation, this appears to be an elaborate SCAM.
The company no longer answers any e-mails and is not responding to direct communictions, by text/phone. So, by not being able to transfer paper shares to Electronic ones, I cannot sell the shares even if they are/were Legitimate!!!!
They are marketed through the German unregulated Market (Frankfurt Floor) and are still looking for investment punters....SO BEWARE!
