Script Dividend?

can anyone tell me what a script dividend is, I was looking on the Yahoo insider trading lists and noticed this phrase comming up repeatedly.
 
Scrip dividend: The issue of additional shares by a company to a shareholder in lieu of a cash dividend. No dealing charges or stamp duty is payable the issue of the new shares.
