Hello everyone,

I recently passed IMC exams and want to know how is the job market for IMC qualified candidates. I have 2yrs of financial services experience but now want to get into investment/portfolio analysis, trader/broker roles but they all ask for previous experience. Could someone please advice what is the good way to start.

Thanks .

i'd start with deciding whether you want to be an analyst, trader or broker.....

All of the roles(analyst, trader, broker) ask for previous experience. May I know how can one gain experience in these roles.

do you know the difference?

I think this is a forum to discuss and not to prove that you are the one who knows everything. Just because you call yourself legendry member does not mean you are better than anyone else. If you cant contribute anything constructive ....dont reply!

wind your neck in.

when you give an answer to that question you might get some constructive replies.

my advice on somewhere to start is to decide what you want to do. and sort out your attitude.

screw yourself.

start by sorting your own attitude first.

haha

someone p1ssed on your chips this morning?

that was a genuine question initially; you're the one that jumped on it. the positions you asked about are all very different. if you want experience ask to do an unpaid internship but i suspect you're probably someone who wants 100k pro-rata to do it.

i wish my c0ck was big enough to screw myself.

you cant...a D1CK-head that you are.

It was a genuine question from a rank beginner. Instead of a more mature reply as is expected from a person with experience you simply shot your mouth off.

let's start again. do you know the difference between a broker/trader/analyst?

In amidst all the bun throwing, Goose was trying to help you, and was asking a valid question. Is your desire just to end up in something vaugely 'front office-ey'? Because if you start listing all those completely disparate jobs on one post that's how you come across. At which point people like Goose (i.e. people who might actually be in a position to give you advice / help etc since they work in the markets) switch off, as loads of people just want to get into any job vaguely market facing. If you had more of a focus to what it is you want to do, you would be more likely to meet with success.

But it's all a bit moot anyway as I have a feeling you're not cut out for this.

Best wishes

GJ
