recommended reading?

Hi all

complete newby just sniffing around here.

I am quite in terested in technical analysis and spread trading - but not sure about handing over any of my cash to all these guys that 'make millions using their techniques' and are 'willing to share their secret' with me

so, can anyone recommend any decent texts?

Looking for info on general technical analysis and charting, trends, patterns, indicators and I've seen a few folk mention pivot tables on here too.

any and all info appreciated.
