The Richest Man in Babylon, (rave reviews everwhere)

The Richest Man in Babylon: Amazon.co.uk: George S. Clason: Books

anyone read this book, its getting awsome reviews from everywhere, is it really that good.

just ordered a copy of the new version off amazon

Bought a copy for my kids some years ago to help them learn how to save and why it's a good idea. Being brought up in a consumerist society they have to learn that you don't get rich by spending it !
Try also 'The Millionairre next door' which shows (USA) how wealthy people protect their capital, drive hard bargains and live discretely in neighbourhoods below their wealth standard.
...and although its a little late now, try 'Conquer the Crash' by Robert Prechter (2003)- he predicted everything that has happened interms of the markets, mortgages, credit crunch etc along with advice on how to survive the debacle.

I've got this and it is a good read. Common sense advice about looking after your cash - repaying debt first, saving regularly, not gambling, spending wisely/living within your means and allowing your money to accumulate over time.
The book is popular because of its story format, the themes easy to remember and it is short and fun to read.
