Hi,

Does anyone know what these dvds by Nison and Calhoun are like?
(I've got the Strategies for profiting with Candlesticks and Samurai dvds by Nison)

Regards

Hi - thanks for asking. There's over an hour of preview clips on the site, and a review in this month's TASC (Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities) magazine, plus 100+ testimonials from traders at the main site.

Thanks,

Ken Calhoun,

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your reply
Yes I downloaded the preview clips and the pdf review. Do you know if there are any other reviews anywhere?
I was just wondering how people have found the product (I've often tended to be careful of listed testimonials but I appreciate your integrity in replying and will look at them)
I'm in the UK and spreadbet stocks (I'll be doing more US stocks etc), sectors, FTSE index, forex, etc, would the content still be as useful?
Thanks

Hi - good question, hmm probably not, to be honest... What I cover is all geared specifically towards trading the opening hour in NASDAQ/NYSE stocks... though other types of traders have found it useful... probably best to hold off, if that's not your style, eg "first hour intraday/swing trading for US equities"..

best wishes... the best teacher, is simply sitting in front of the dang charts watching 'em go up and down for years, figuring out the patterns etc.. though that's time consuming, that's the best way to learn...

Thanks very much Ken, I appreciate that.
As mentioned I did have a look at the previews and I did like them, I just wasn't sure how applicable they'd be for where I'm at. I also went through Steve's other dvds on candlesticks, including his advanced Samurai ones which I enjoyed.
Are there any other products you do or anything else you'd recommend? That's an open question and I mean that generally on anything you think is really good (you're welcome to PM if you prefer)
Once again, thanks for your openness and excellent integrity
Best wishes

Hi - sure thing... glad to be able to give a straight answer. The people I've respected the most, and learned from the most, are Steve Nison, Tony Oz, and also Barry Rudd for trading ... Toni Turner has a few good books out there as well.

For the most part, I've found that just carefully studying the charts and seeing what types of patterns work on most often, in specific markets, is the best approach.. I share most people's skepticism of vendors, and haven't found a lot of value in most of the resources out there. Reading the magazines (active trader, tasc) helps a bit, and forums like this one and others, is useful.

Interesting I've never even heard of 'spread betting', it's fascinating to see all these different markets and trading styles and instruments to trade (fx, etfs, minis, equities)...kinda like the world's biggest casino lol.

Ken

Thanks Ken, I appreciate your insights
I'll look some of those up, I'm familiar with Nison's work and one of Rudd's books, I'm currently working through quite a bit of content and having a fun time with the charts lol
That's interesting, I often find that when I'm interacting with traders in the US that spreadbetting is a new concept for them lol. It's potentially a tax free way of making money on the markets here, feel free to look into it, there'll be a lot of content on it.
Although I've not looked into them there are other variations on it too such as two way betting etc

Best wishes
