Hi,

Very angry and upset as I write this. A close family member of mine who has been ill for sometime now and is in the recovery process has been scammed by GV and Associates www.gvandassociates.com in HK, by initially buying facebook shares. A good deal of money is lost... When I called them to confront them last week, on three seperate occasions I was greeted by "asia world capital, how can I help you" .

Now, I am not sure how these things work... Has a company called Asia World Capital bought over this company. I found Asiaworld Capital and Asia World Capital, www.asiaworldcap.com in HK

Again based in HK. Gv and associates have many bad things written about them online. I wonder if a new company has bought them out... If so, Is there a way of recovering losses. Has anyone dealt with this new company Asia World Capital (nothing negative online about this company). Thanks

It's a lot simpler than that. Basically a bunch of criminals have stolen the money, word has got out and now they have changed their name and started all over again. There is no company, just a bunch of crooks pretending to be a company. Once the new name starts attracting adverse attention they will change it and start again.

By the way they will be contacting your friend again very soon to steal more money from them, most likely with an offer to recover what was lost initially. All you have to do is pay the withholding fee or tax up front, then you'll get all the money back. Of course once the money is received they will steal it and disappear.

People generally lose more money to these follow up scams than they do in the original scam, they won't stop until they have all your friends money. This is the start of it, it could go on for years.
