any newbie trader out there that are about to open an account to start trading? You have to be ready mentally. I know a mentor who can take away the pressure. Lol and give you free trade signals.

Every newbie trader needs this just to get started. I know as i was down the pan. i wish i had this free signal service.

try posting your comments or i think you can send messages through this. Give it a go.

Plus state which forex brokers you are using as in market makers. e.g, fxcm, fxsol?

it would be helpful if you would mention the service/mentor you are talking about... right now I'm just trying to soak up as much information as possible... the biggest problem I have is trying to decide which broker to use because there's a zillion brokers out there that all pretty much offer the same services, just varying pip spreads... the concept of trading seems simple enough to me but when choosing a broker I can' t tell the trees from the forest

trader786 - don't be shy. Spill the beans so we can all benefit.

JRich - there's quite a useful reviews section on this site from everything to brokers, books and systems.

If you're down to specifics, say have short-listed a couple of brokers - ASK! There are bound to have been members who can offer an opinion on them.

and how many thousands of $$'s is your mentor gonna charge these noobs for offering FREE currency signals?? cos anyone worth his salt sure aint gonna do it out of the sheer goodness of his heart....no free brunches in this business, well none that I've come across anyway.

you're bang on regards the mental prep though!!

bramble, you've become really sarcastic of late. :O) I've enjoyed your posts. You even turned against old socrates and sent him running with his tail between his legs. You inspired me to write my own trading application too which is coming along, bogged down with coding my own graph module at the moment which is a surprisingly complex thing to code!

Lots of dodgy people still pouring into this site targeting the poor unfortunates who find themselves new to the game. I would give advice to any novice trader that there isn't anything you can't learn about trading that is either free here or in a decent book. The rest is testing, experimenting, hardwork and dedication. I've been down the route of forking out hundreds and even thousands for services and applications. If someone had found the road to riches, I can guarantee that they wouldn't just give it away. Its the equivalent of giving them a credit card and a pin number. If its for sale and expensive its pretty much guaranteed to not work!

Save your money and dont bother opening anything but a test trading account. Use that account until your consistently profiting, then start using money. Dont rush in as you'll only be rushing to your financial doom. JRich.. trading isn't as straight forward as you'd like to imagine. If it was, who would trapes into work everyday! Worth asking yourself that!

A good mentor is definitely worth having though, if he's cheap. If he's expensive leave it well alone as he's a failed trader! Why charge tonnes of money if your making a packet in the market?! A mentor whose cheap is probably someone doing it out of the kindness of his heart... to give something back to the poor unfortunates he's made his wealth on. A way of deminishing his sense of guilt at taking money from people who dont know what their doing so he can get on with enjoying his winnings.

Why don't you guys give me your list of top brokers... so far people are high on oando, rjofx(a subsidiary of Tradestation), cbfx, cmc and capital market spread... do you guys feel any of these stand out & above one another?... is there anyone else who may be better?.... lots of people state my pip spreads should be 3 or less.... pkfryer, when I said the concept of trading is simple I meant: buy low - sell high; however the fundamental & technical analysis of trading is the difficult part(when to buy low - when to sell high) as well as predicting which way the markets will move and for how long, MACD, stochastics, etc... still at this point having difficulty choosing a broker... right now using apexforex.com 60 day trial.... but I just found out the same company also online at proedgefx.com... I'm a little concerned as to why a company would have 2 different sites.... seems to me if they were on the ball they would have just one site... any ideas?

Hey JRich,

I used www.scottrade.com due to its' simplicity and now moved on to www.interactivebrokers.com. for flexibility in order placement. It allows me to set a buy order and when it fills THEN it will immediately place a stop for my position at any price that I want. It does so much more, but I would be a poor individual to try to explain it all.

d- *good luck*
